Hello everyone and thank you so much for reading my blog. My name is Hugo Zieg, I’m a third year Engineering with Management student in Trinity College Dublin. As part of the Engineering with Management course we have been tasked to design, modify and create working models of many different idea concepts.
The first concept we were tasked with designing was a sustainable eco-friendly coffee machine. In order to create this conceptual device I collaborated with Klaudiuz Kolaszewski a fellow Engineering with Management student. The design concept is as follows:
My next task will be to create and assemble a functional Elegoo Tumbller Self Balancing robot. This two wheeled robot will utilize some ardiuno trickery to allow it to stay in balance while moving past obstacles. As the robots arrival is being held up due to the current global pandemic I decided to create a 3D rendering off schematics I found online. I used the online schematics and Solidworks to create a model of the robot in 3D space. This model may have to be altered at a later date but for now it give me a good idea of the size and overall design of the robot. I will use this render to help me think of practical modifications that I can make to the robot to increase its versatility. Creating this CAD proved to be time consuming but i am very happy with the final result. Here are a few renderings of the design:
